It’s Halloween week here on the LSID blog! I was finally able to do a little Halloween decorating this week. It’s not exactly my best accessorizing. I thought I had plenty of things to work with, but it still feels a bit empty. I still have some fun little sparkly spiders that I will try to work in around the house.
And I’m going to attempt a version of this wreath,
like I wrote about earlier in the week. We’ll see how that goes! I found orange burlap, so it should be fun at least in the attempt!
But on to what I have decorated.
Here’s our entry way. One of those sparkly spiders would look good on the lamp shade, I think.
My almost 2 year old is fascinated by this witch. He keeps walking around with her {there’s a little cat she’s carrying that he likes.} Hopefully that won’t be broken by the time October 31st rolls around!
I made this wreath like the ones I made for Christmas last year. Just a foam wreath, two spools of yarn {one had black, white, purple and green all in one} and a few pins to keep the yarn in place. I found this cute little skeleton on a trip to Hobby Lobby earlier this week and pinned him on for a little spooky touch.
Our living room fireplace is below. Both fireplace mantles are a bit of a challenge because they are so long. I decided to just focus around the actual fireplace opening.
The cute little orange pumpkin was something my then 3 year old made last year in preschool.
Love it!
I found the skeleton candles at HomeGoods and I had the Halloween blocks from awhile ago. And the cute little white pumpkins are from Vons.
And for our den mantle, I added some more white. I found this cute banner at Target, I had the spider web hurricanes and the boo sign, and got the tree and Haunted House sign at HomeGoods.
I really would like to see more height here to balance it out and I found some empty white frames at Hobby Lobby that I really would have loved to get, but we were up in the bay area and had to find room to get them home and they were a bit pricier than I was wanting to spend that day. But empty frames with some cobwebs would be a great addition for next year! I do have a Halloween printable that might work well.
I would also like to change out the flowers in the pitcher to a more “fall” look, so I will be on the hunt for those.

My younger son’s birthday falls right after Halloween so I’m thinking next year we’ll have a Halloween birthday party. That fireplace is just calling for a big cauldron, don’t you think?!
So that’s it for my Halloween decor. I definitely have to make a list for what I need next year. Not quite up to par with the inspiration photos I found, but it is enough for my kiddos, so that’s good enough for this year :)
