I’ve always loved built-ins. There are so functional, beautiful and add so much architectural detail and character to a space.
Built-ins have been on the brain, lately.  I’ve been working on a built-in design right now for a client, and in re-thinking our own home, {you can catch up on what I wrote about here} the future new family room has me thinking about built-ins for my own home.

Of course, built-ins don’t all need to be white!  You can do wood finishes or paint them some fabulous color, like this…
Built-ins are beneficial in so many areas of the home…making an office more practical and useful, adding storage to a kid’s room, or adding a statement wall in a living room.
They are also a great way to incorporate:
~Function~
Customizing the size, features, and finishes for the specific space by adding drawers, closed cabinets to hide items, or glass doors with lighting to showcase collections, all add to a built-in’s function.
~Style~
The details are what develop the specific style that is fitting to your home.
~Resale Value~
Typically, built-ins add value to your home when the time comes to sell it.
Built-ins can be a bit pricey, but you can also do semi-customizable built-ins like are seen here:
Functional and beautiful! What’s not to love?!
