It really doesn’t matter when we start organizing our homes and lives, does it? Whether it’s January or March, whenever we feel the need to do so, is when we should jump in. I have been busy working on areas around our house and have shared some on Instagram and in my stories. I’ve got a lot more to do around here, especially on the more important, meaningful, non-replaceable areas of our life {like family history memorabilia, photos and digital organization, and keepsakes}, but I wanted to share a few of my past posts on organizing spaces around our home. Hopefully one or more can be a source of inspiration for your own organization projects.
This was an old, old post! But, it’s still how I tackle organization projects around our home.
When we remodeled our kitchen, our pantry lay-out stayed the same. I shared what I use to keep our pantry organized in a simple way.
Kids’ Art work and school work organization
With 4 kids in school or preschool, there is a lot of school work and paperwork that comes home each day. Some of it I definitely want to keep, and this system has worked great for all of my kids’ school work.
This isn’t very timely, being that it’s January, and not August, but I find the start of the year is a good time to re-evaluate this again. My oldest, in middle school, is also changing classes again, so it’s a good time to just check his desk to be sure he’s got what the supplies he needs. We also settle inside more during the winter months here, so takingĀ inventory of our art supplies for art or school projects helps to limit the back and forth runs to the store and keeps everyone entertained while it’s cold outside.
An Organized Little Girl’s Closet
This was in our last home, and the closet my girls’ share is pretty organized, but could use a little tweaking. This motivates me to get their current closet in top shape!
This was also in our last house and I have yet to share our current, updated Mudroom/Laundry room, but I added some extra function to our last laundry room that was a huge benefit.
I’ll share soon how I know when it’s time to re-organize an area of our home, but until then, if you have a space that’s been driving you crazy, just start! Even just 10 or 15 minutes to tackle a small area, like the junk drawer, can make you feel SO good and starts momentum toward bigger projects!
