Happy New Year! 2016 was a challenging and growing year for me, and I am anxious and excited to see what 2017 brings. I have both personal goals and some goals for this little business of mine that I will be sharing next week. With the risk of sounding overly dramatic, I’m working hard in my heart to not over commit to goals and resolutions. I know that seems kind of a ridiculous statement, but my personality lends itself to slightly Type A and determined and yet I also have a big case of “fear of failure.” When you have those combos, I have found at least for me, I tend to jump head first into ideas and projects and then if I can’t complete them “perfectly” or how I expected to go, I either lament the fact of “Why is this so difficult? Why can’t I get it right?” and struggle through that or I kind of just abandon ship.
So, while I’ll be working on bite size monthly goals to just keep me on track with all that I want to accomplish, I’m trying to limit my major goal setting for the year to just a few big ones. I’ve got my one word for the year that I’ll be sharing next week which will hopefully be the driving focus behind all that I do this coming year. I feel like I have still so much growing, learning, and recouping to do from this past year, and I want to allow myself to be open to that without being bogged down by my usual over goal-er-izing. {not a word, just made it up, but seemed like the best fit!} I’ll be sharing more about this next week along with our annual Family Meeting recap that’s taking place this weekend ;)
saw this quote on my friend, Sara’s blog sincerleysarad.com and just loved it
As for Living Solutions Interior Design, there are some new updates happening around here! Starting over in a new community and building my business here in Nebraska will take time, I know. And I’ve got a lot that can occupy my days ;) But I absolutely love helping people love their homes and live well within them, so after hitting pause on the business button for the last 7 months or so, I’m looking forward to figuring out what that all looks like for LSID. A new website is in the works, and I’m contemplating E-Design {design services with clients who are not local} and how that could work.
I also have so much that I want to write about and share here on the blog and in a monthly newsletter: Design tips, inspiration, project ideas, etc. So if you are not already signed up to receive the upcoming newsletter and stay caught up on blog posts {a weekly email recap}, make sure you sign up in the box over on the right side of my blog. Your privacy is very important to me and I will never share your info, so you don’t have to worry about that!
Thank you for all your support this past year and for coming back to read my little corner of the web. And if you’re new here, I’m so happy you stopped by! Happy New Year and I’ll meet you here next week ;)
