Thank you for all the sweet comments and emails for the final look at the Command Center!
Today I thought I’d share another awesome room re-do from one of my bffs, Kathryn!!! She’s due any minute with her second little boy and I CAN’T WAIT to hear that he’s here!!!

*Update: I started writing this post last week and asked Kathryn to take some more “after” photos and she said she’d take them the next day. I woke up to a text from her that her water had broken that night, they were on their way to the hospital, and she wasn’t going to be able to get me those photos!!! They welcomed a beautiful baby boy!*
Kathryn is an amazingly creative person {although I don’t think she gives herself enough credit for her crazy talents.} I remember when we met in college and I visited her apartment for the first time, it was so stinkin’ cute. She had thought of things I had never seen before, like making a not so attractive apartment powder room cute with a fabric skirt around the ugly standard sink attached with velcro and hand towels tied with ribbons. She was ahead of her time, that girl!
When I visited her home in Nebraska for her wedding, {I was honored to be a bridesmaid on her big day} I fell in love with her cozy, homey, beautiful little home. And she’s a whiz in the kitchen. Our other bff and I joke about how you could be left with spinach, stale bread, some brie {cause when we get together (when we’re not pregnant) we ALWAYS have brie and wine; that’s pretty much our staple food and drink when hanging out} and whatever random leftovers we have, and she whips up some crazy delicious concoction! We have no idea how she does it but it always turns out supper yummy!
Recently, she updated her basement laundry room and I asked her if I could share her talent on my blog and she agreed :)
Before
Dark wood cabinets and outdated hardware made this laundry room no fun for doing laundry.
But freshly painted cabinets, new hardware, some fun art and a cute valance and ironing board cover make this chore not so bad to take on! Not to mention a new awesome washer and dryer set!!!
After
She even updated the little bathroom off the laundry room.
She had to keep the doors and trim the existing wood and she wanted something a bit “cooler” in a paint color to go with the existing warmer tones of the wood. It’s amazing what a little paint and some color can do to a space!

In addition to being an amazing mom, friend and talent in the home, she’s also a fabulous photographer and recently started her own photography business in Nebraska. You can find Kathryn’s photography skills over on her blog, Kathryn Katz Photography {highly recommend her if you are in the Nebraska area} or on Facebook here.
