Sweet California Print

February 4, 2012 By Living Solutions Interior Design

Look what arrived in the mail today!
I’ve been eying these adorable custom state prints from Lily Gene for months now. And last week I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a map of California. I chose the “Sapphire” background with our hearts in “Clementine.” Poor Jason, I asked him what color he liked and he loved the “Deep Sea” as the background but I decided to go with the color I wanted, ultimately. He asks me why I bother getting his opinion with things for the house if I already know what I want to do! He’s got pretty good taste {for the most part!} and I like to have him involved or at least get his opinion :) And I do take his advice every so often!
Ikea Ribba Frame for Gallery Wall
I have a few white Ribba frames from Ikea hanging around waiting for a gallery wall, so I used one of them and just popped my new state silhouette in the frame and hung it up on the wall on a nail left over from the previous owner. Kinda tacky, I know. I am planning on painting this wall and before I have everything that is going up here I don’t want to add more holes!

I asked if we could add two hearts…One for the city where we met {since we’re both from the bay area, a heart in this general area works for that too!} and one for where we live now. Also, both our families still live in the bay area, so it’s a little sentimental nod to them, as well!

It’s hanging on a small wall in our family room above my little secretary desk.  I’m working on making a gallery wall of interesting art, etc., and it’s slowly coming together. I’ll show you once I have the last few pieces that will complete this project.
For $35.00 + shipping and tax, I have a cute custom piece of artwork that is unique and personal to my little family that I get to enjoy every day! And I got it in about 4 days from order date to delivery date! Can’t beat that!
