Earlier this week, Jill and I headed out shopping for a new, exciting project that we are working on: A vignette/”room” at the 2013 Del Mar Fair! Jill will write more about it soon, but it’s been a fun, challenging project to work on together.
So the other day, we headed out to some local consignment shops to check out what was available for our “room.” We have some great ideas, and want to use a more budget-friendly approach to the pieces we use.
At the first stop, Karen’s Consignment, I may have gotten a bit sidetracked when I found this beautiful painting of Venice hanging on the wall.
I haven’t been to Venice in about 19 years {GEEZ! When I really count the years, that’s crazy!} but it’s one of my favorite places in the world. I haven’t traveled too extensively, but I loved how magical Venice was to my young teenage self.
I’m not quite sure where this little gem will end up, but I love it. It’s even framed perfectly for my house! And after 30 days, pieces get marked down 10% and guess what?!? Yesterday was the 30th day, so I got a little bit marked off, too!
Later in the day, Jill found a few key pieces for our design.
Here’s a sneak peek…
They might not look like much, but we are planning some fun transformations! Check back to see updates on this fun project.
*Our thoughts and prayers are with Boston and all those effected by tragedy that occurred earlier this week, as well as those in West, Texas.*
