Happy Friday!
Nothing too earth shattering to share today…no pretty pictures of inspiration or “after” projects. But it’s been a super busy week and I’m so happy it’s Friday. We have gotten a lot checked off the to-do list this week with a few last minute projects finishing up early next week before Thanksgiving.
By the way, can you believe it’s Thanksgiving next week already?!?! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. I love the relaxed attitude of the day, just hanging out, eating and spending time with family. I called the little market in our neighborhood to order our turkey a few weeks ago and figured I’d add a few side dishes to the turkey order as well. Turns out, for what I think is a very reasonable price, we can pick up pretty much the entire meal, turkey cooked and everything the morning of Thanksgiving!!! Score! I usually love cooking everything, but with baby #3 due, I’m giving myself a break and I’m going to relax and enjoy my family instead of cooking all day.
Some things I’ve been up to around here:
- Building quite a few Ikea and other “assembly required” furniture
- Taking care of electrical needs
- Taking care of plumbing issues
- Finishing up some necessary baby shopping
- Washing and putting away baby clothes, etc.
- Finishing up the furniture arrangement, etc. in the nursery
- Doing some early Christmas shopping
- Working on an arrangement for a gallery wall project
{I’ll share more next week-I caved and called some picture hanger people to finish up a lot of art hanging projects around here. There are so many frames, and large art pieces, etc. to hang and it feels like a lot of projects are half done because things haven’t made it up on the wall. It’s just too much of a project for me to do right now and Jason has no extra time to help with these kind of projects, so they’ll be here Tuesday.}
I hope to finish up some projects for the nursery next week, too. I’ve calmed down quite a bit with my feeling of “finishing” it all up before she arrives. I have the big pieces in there which is huge and I figure I’ll take my time finishing up the details when I can.
So with that list above, I’m feeling good about things. Is everything all finished and under control? No. But I feel so much more relaxed now that things have been getting checked off. For me, when projects get checked off and there is order in my home, it makes me so much more relaxed and I can enjoy our home more.
Is anyone else like me?!?!
Have a great weekend!
