You can find all kinds of fun, funky wall treatments over blog-land, and I love the look of them-both bold and subtle. So when I was starting to plan for our “Command Center” {which you can read about in previous posts here}, I thought that this smaller area would be a fun place to do something a little different. At first, I thought of doing a stencil pattern on the wall that looks more like a wallpaper, but I decided I wasn’t up for that challenge right now.
So in my mind, some stripes would be the perfect solution. Still a bit of a challenge, but they are whimsical with a bit of refinement, and shouldn’t be TOO time consuming! {Ha, Ha, Ha…always my famous last words!} I’m going to attempt to do horizontal stripes, but vertical stripes could be great in a space too. They would add the illusion that the space had more height.
Here’s some inspiration I’ve found!

I hope to get started on this painting project next week! I’m still not completely sure how to tackle this project: how wide my stripes should be; should I start in the center and measure from there or start up top and measure from there? I’ll be sure to share my adventure and let you know how it goes! Luckily it’s such a small space that it shouldn’t be too overwhelming of a project. Hopefully!
So what do you think?
Striped walls: crazy or fabulous?!
