My hubby and my dad have taken over the tv and are watching UFC fighting. So I thought I’d share a little project I worked on this week!
Chalkboard labels seem to be all over blog land these days, and I thought I’d jump on board on the chalkboard express. Back in December, I worked on my office closet. This week I finally got around to finishing the little storage shelf that holds my client’s projects.
I started with a couple of packages of balsa wood rectangles and got them ready to prime and paint.
I used the Rustoleum Primer and ChalkBoard spray paint.
First I primed them, and then sprayed two coats of the Chalk Board paint on them.
Then I just used a drill bit and my drill to drill small holes for ribbon to be threaded through.
I then just tied some decorative ribbon through the drilled holes and tied them onto each wire basket. I’ve been using these baskets for client projects and now I can write the client name on the label and change it when I need to. I haven’t tried the chalk yet, so we’ll see how they work once I actually write with chalk on them!
Here’s what it looks like in the closet. And we finally got some new closet doors for the office closet and our boys’ closets. I do need to find some new hardware, but otherwise, they make such a huge difference in finishing both rooms!
This weekend we’re (actually I should say my dad is) working on painting the guest room closet doors and I hope to finish up the painting on our master bedroom. Our master bedroom drywall and our “command center’s” cracks were repaired today and the little room got a new coat of texture to smooth everything out. I hope to start painting in there next week!
Have a great weekend!
