Playing with Fabrics

October 27, 2011 By Living Solutions Interior Design

Today I’m playing with fabrics! I love this part of my job!

I’m working on a project in San Francisco and right now I’m focused on pulling together throw pillow combos for a large window seat (like almost a little bed in a window, looking down the hill to the SF skyline…doesn’t get much better than that!) and for a sofa. There are very close together so they need to relate, and possibly have repeated fabrics. The window seat can go a bit more eclectic with patterns, and I’m going to do probably 3 fabrics for the pillows on the sofa. The “throw” pillows on the sofa are more of what we call a “scatter back,” where the back of the sofa doesn’t have large cushions, but instead has larger throw pillows.
We’ve already got a creamy white sofa and this Carly chair from Crate and Barrel in the room.

We are also using  the Gibson chair from Ethan Allen
in a dark navy velvet.
Can’t wait to see what I come up with for pillows!!!

Love the lines of the Gibson chair from every angle. It will look awesome in the navy velvet. Look forward to seeing which fabrics you pair with these chairs. Thanks for sharing tips with us.
