I recently shared some fall wreath ideas on Facebook and with October just around the corner, I thought I would share our “spooky” Halloween wreath I made a few years ago that still gets good use in the month of October around here!
I went into this craft project thinking I wanted just natural burlap for the wreath, but I found orange burlap at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be a great pop of color against our black door.
The tools I used…
I purchased the wire wreath at Michael’s for a few dollars and the burlap was under $6. I purchased 1 1/2 yards and ended up using a bit less than that.
Once I had all my materials together, I cut the burlap into about 1″x7″ strips.
And just started tying the strips onto the wire wreath. I tied them pretty close together, and then fluffed them to fill it all in.
It was pretty easy!
A couple of things to be aware of…
You might want to get some fabric scissors, because you’ll be doing a lot of cutting! The fabric scissors made it easier than just regular scissors.
Burlap makes quite a mess when it’s cut!
I added a sparkly “spooky” sign and some ribbon.
Happy Halloween craftiness!
