Today one of my good friends asked if I knew of any nursery blogs. They are expecting their first baby and just found out they are having a boy!!!! It’s the 4th boy out of five little ones in my college group of girlfriends. Can’t wait to meet that little guy!
But her question caused me to think…Did I know of any specific blogs dedicated to nursery design? The answer was nope. I have seen nursery designs on numerous blogs that I love, but not specifically devoted to that niche of design. She shared a few with me that they were already following: Project Nursery, ohdeedoh, and Chic Cheap Nursery. So many great design ideas! So I went on a hunt for nursery design blogs and didn’t really find any new ones, but I did find some adorable nurseries out there!
I’ve read Martinis or Diaper Genies off and on for about a year and love the nursery she decorated for her little boy. So bold and beautiful, don’t you think?!
I did some more looking at the sites listed above and this is what I found that I loved…
I liked the preppy-ness to this little boy’s room. You could do this for a girl too and the color combos are endless!
I liked how this room could be gender neutral and is perfect for a guest room/nursery (which we had for awhile) or for the peanut to grow in to.
Another dear friend of mine is having twins! And they just found out it’s a boy and a girl, and I can’t wait to meet these little munchkins, too! I was drawn to this nursery idea because of course they will be sharing a room (at least while they’re young)!
This is such a bold statement and could be used for a nursery or a toddler all the way to a tween or teen. Good for both boys or girls and, again, the color options are endless!
Another twin nursery. Don’t you just love that orange door? I like how they thought outside the box…makes you start thinking of other creative ideas!
This last one is for twin boys as well.
I love how this is so sophisticated and modern, yet still whimsical and playful enough for little ones.
Just a little tip (learned from experience)…Anything cute and decorative above or near the crib will last about 4-6 months, until your precious little nugget can sit up and then pull up on the crib and tear down any beautifully designed decoration you’ve painstakenly put up! Think wall decals, murals, etc. in these areas! Nothing that needs a nail to hang it up!
Designing for a newcomer to this world is so exciting and fun!
Are any of you designing for a nursery? What resources and inspiration have you used?
