My husband and I live in one of our favorite areas in San Diego, North Park. We love the energy that comes from being surrounded by small boutiques, a plethora of delicious restaurants, and a comforting feeling that comes from the charm from the neighborhood homes. We love this area and plan to call it home for a long time. We’re working towards purchasing our 1st house here, so in the mean time we rent.
Being renters we deal with many of the same design opportunities and dilemmas as homeowners. However, we also have find the balance between following the landlord’s rules, creating a well designed home and knowing that home is not our permanent address.
Over the next month or so I’m going to dedicate several “Tuesday’s Tips” to giving you key advise on how to make your rented house feel like the home of your dreams. I’ll show you DIY projects and design elements that I’ve used in my home.
Stay tuned…

I can’t wait to hear theses tips, I need them. Whats your opinion about painting in a rented house? Specically a bright orange wall in a bedroom? :)

You’re not alone. As renters, deciding what you should do, what you can do, and what projects are worth your time and money, can be difficult. Stay tuned & I’ll share some of my favorite ways to overcome those challenges.
As for painting… I’m always a “yes” for another coat. I know that sometimes the landlord may request otherwise, and as tenants we should abide by their rules. As you’ll see in pics from our upcoming series “Tuesday’s Tips ~ Renter’s Guide to Home Decor” I have a special place in my heart for orange walls.
…and please keep the comments commin’. We love to hear from you :)
